Cinnamon Swirl Dutch Baby With Cream Cheese Drizzle

I took my dutch baby and made it even better.

I’m a sucker for a cinnamon roll, but could live without the work and time. I’m also a big fan of pancakes, and this recipe marries the two together in the BEST way.

I love the real food, good ingredients of a dutch baby. The addition of a brown sugar cinnamon swirl may make it marginally unhealthier, but I don’t care. This is so good. Top it with the cream cheese drizzle and you have an easy breakfast that you’ll be dreaming about for days.

Cinnamon Swirl Dutch Baby with cream Cheese Drizzle

Cream Cheese Drizzle Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese

  • ¼ cup cream

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • splash of vanilla

  • pinch of salt

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Swirl Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

Dutch BabyIngredients:

  • 6 tablespoons butter

  • 6 eggs

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla

  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1 cup gluten free flour blend

Instructions:

To make the cream cheese topping, put the cream cheese, cream, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt together in a bowl. Blend with a hand mixer for a couple minutes until well combined and a bit fluffy. Put in the fridge.

Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Place butter in a 10 inch cast iron or other oven safe skillet. Place skillet in the oven while the oven preheats.

Mix up the brown sugar cinnamon. Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl together.

In a bowl or blender, blend together the eggs, milk, vanilla, maple syrup, and 2 tablespoons of the butter that melted in the skillet. (Leave the rest of the butter in the skillet and put back in the oven to brown.) Blend in the flour assuring there are no clumps.

When the oven is preheated, pour the batter into the skillet with the butter. Drop the brown sugar cinnamon in a swirl pattern into the skillet. Place the skillet back into the oven for 20 minutes. The Dutch baby will be puffy when you take it out of the oven, but it’ll sink down within a minute or so. Cut and serve with the cream cheese drizzle! Enjoy!
